The Joseph Warren Alive Project is a community initiative in Warren County, Ohio, supported by the Warren County Foundation. Its mission is to honor Dr. Joseph Warren’s legacy through art and education, inspiring future generations with his dedication to freedom and service.
On June 17, 2025, a bronze statue of Dr. Warren, crafted by Cincinnati sculptor John Hebenstreit, will be unveiled on the Harmon Museum lawn in Lebanon, Ohio. This event marks the 250th anniversary of his heroic death at the Battle of Bunker Hill and introduces Warren County residents to the Revolutionary War hero who gave their county its name. The statue will feature a Massachusetts granite base and nearby biographical signage.
The project also includes educational programs for local schools and community events to highlight Dr. Warren’s role in the Revolutionary Era alongside leaders like Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Paul Revere.
With a goal of $130,000, the project has already secured half the funding.
Community support is vital to bringing this tribute to life and sharing Dr. Warren’s enduring story.
John Hebenstreit, son of artists Carin and Robert Hebenstreit, found his passion for sculpting early. A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and the Cincinnati Academy of Design, he has created works such as the Ezzard Charles monument and sculptures for Hollywood’s “Rock Walk,” honoring legends like Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis.
Now, John is crafting the Joseph Warren sculpture, to be unveiled in Lebanon, Ohio—a tribute to the Revolutionary War hero that will honor history and inspire the community.
